The Concept....
The concept of “Don & Sue, TheTexas Two”, came about when, after 10 years or so, The Texas Tradition Band, formed by Don and Sue Lummus in 1995, began going through a series of problems due to personnel conflicts, economic changes, lack of live music venues, basically just a conglomeration of a lot of stuff!
Since early in 2001, the original band consisted mainly of Don Lummus, Sue Lummus, and, sort of “semi-regularly”, Lee Pettijohn, along with various and assorted Bass Pickers, and Drummers, hired as the gigs came available. This led to a lot of concern for the "unique' sound strived for by the band since its inception. So, after much discussion, and lots of thought, Don and Sue decided to just go for the "basics", and work up a whole new concept.... just go ahead and concentrate on being the best they could be as a duo act, and ,if the opportunity ever came again, possibly add band members back into the mix.
So, from the original band member count of seven…down to five, four, and three, finally arises a group (okay..two) as determined as ever to keep Real Country, and “Texas Honky-Tonk Music” alive, well, and performed, wherever and whenever folks want to have a good time. As they say.."We ain't gonna give up.. never!
Come see us.. we'll save a table down front for ya!"
