Usually.. one's just about as bad or good as another.. On to more stuff!</div> <div> We're just now gettin' our "steam" back up from pickin' at a Real Texas Honky-Tonk last night.. called the "Sittin' Bull Saloon".. ain't that cool?? Although we were a little apprehensive about how it would go.. as it turned out..it weren't too bad! We seemed to satisfy the larger percentage of the definitely "mixed-age" crowd..  didn't get anything thrown at us.. didn't get stopped in the middle of the gig.. in short.. we might even get called back there... that's what the owner told us..so we'll see.</div> <div> Now.. other stuff.. Not too much goin' on...oh yeah.. We're tryin' like  crazy to get something we've been dreamin' and wishin' about now for about a year or so...A 1999 Ford Regency Conversion Van.. (happens to be our favorite form of Road Trippin'... (the Full-Time RV phase was just too costly for our little budget..) Anyway...we've been lookin' at  this particular vehicle fairly regular since it sets right out near the Nacogdoches Highway..and we pass by there quite a bit.. We just  sold our motorhome last week.. got the bank note down..and are gonna hit our banker with our request tomorrow.. we'll let you know how it goes! What a big ol' MESS!</B></div> <div> As I'm writing this.. I'm doin' my best to keep from watchin' TV and tryin' to keep up with the election returns! Last time I got this worked up over a presidential race.. was..... Actually, I ain't never been this worked up over said election races! I figure as long as I don't watch TV...John and Sarah will still be in the running!  It's the same theory I apply to buying lottery tickets.. the longer I put off checkin' the numbers..the more I feel like I won!  Then, finally,  I just have to go online about 12midnight or so..and get the sad news that I only picked one..maybe two of the winning numbers. I guess I may as well go on back to the den and see what the News Anchors have to tell me... and... don't nobody on here tell me.. I want to keep the reality at bay as long as I can!  Anybody wanna join us in our move to Deep Southern Mexico?</div> <div> So... just to keep the suspense hangin' on..I"m gonna end this portion of our "regular" ramblin' and just say... </div> <div> Hey! We got 3 (THREE) fair-payin' GIGS in a Row comin' up startin' this comin' Saturday! Could it be due to the change in the Whitehouse.. Don't think so! </div> <div> Anyway... for some of you loyal followers of this Internet Space-Takin' Web Site..You probably know that we ain't played a really good payin' gig in Henderson (our hometown) for quite a while now.. (excluding the very nice Durango's Canyon Grill).  Well.. turns out that a serious nemesis of ours (former club manager of the local VFW) finally passed on to his greater reward.. (whichever direction that was)..leaving us to finally have to live up to the promise we had made him a lot of years back.. which was.. "Someday you're gonna die or get demoted out of your cushy, self-indulgent position as "Supreme Commander" of the VFW..and we'll once again come and play at the Henderson VFW like we used to before!" </div> <div> So...he's passed on.. and we're booked back there on the 22nd of November! Y'all come see us!  It's gonna be a party! (well..there was that time a year or so ago, when some dumbass "entertainment director" actually wanted to fire us from a gig because we had put a personal rant about another "so-called" musician on our OWN. AMERICAN, FREEDOM OF SPEECH, website newsletter. This director accused us of "bringing a bad name" to her establishment....but we drigess sort of..)</div> <div> Anyway...back to the present.. As some of y'all might've noticed..we've been putting together a benefit concert for our Henderson Soccer Association for the past 2 or 3 months.. it was a lot of strain to get it all together! So.. the big day finally comes yesterday.. We all (Sue, Me, 2 daughters, 8 or 9 grandkids, a couple of volunteers) show up at the venue to get everything ready for the show. All is set and ready on time.. except for a slight problem....NO AUDIENCE.. (okay.. there was close to 8 people there who were not with the bands).</div> <div> Seems like our attempts at helping the fundraising effort for Henderson Soccer weren't worth the effort  to show up by just about every soccer association member, participant, or supporter!</div> <div> So... another valuable lesson learned.. (actually, we already knew this lesson..just didn't have sense enough to remember it!)
